Guess who is alive!!!

True, its me! Sorry about the lack of posting, the place we were staying in london had no internet...among other things it was lacking... and edinbourgh's was broken...and in skye it was at the other hostel and i was either having too much fun or alternately too sleepy to be bothered...

anyway! My flight was fine, minus the woman telling me i had an aisle...and when i got on the plane i found that not only did i not have an aisle, or a window... i had the exact middle seat in the giant 5 seat section in the middle of the plane...aka worst seat ever. It was fine though, minus occasional climbing manuvers to pee.

met mike without incident, stored our luggage for the day, and spent some time doing quality sightseeing in london, it was even a bit sunny, took the london eye for some high flying fun, walked through westminster abbey etc. Went up to notting hill, met up with tim, who was the best, kindest host ever, except that his flat is falling apart, techinically under construction. but still, a warm dry place to sleep.

saturday we went to portobello market, which is only like a block from his house, LOVELY, so fun, kept singing the song to myself. Later we took a red double decker down the path of the number 15, marble arch to tower of london, went to the tower, had a looovely beefeater guide. Best part, he points out a window and goes see that window? most important window in the whole tower....lets light into my kitchen window(beefeaters and their families live on the tower grounds)...funny

we also went and saw the mousetrap courtsey of mike's lovely parents(thank you berkowitz's)...longest running play in the world, in it's 53rd season.

Sunday we took the train down to brighton...which is santa cruz in england. cute pier and shops and stuff... really nice day, plus a really fun oriental palace, built by yet another mildy balmy king.

Monday we got up early and took the train to edinborugh...nice ride, got in around 1. Spent a good amount of time up at the castle, very pretty, liked it quite a bit. And then some time wandering down the royal mile.

We've been on the macbackpacker's tour for 3 days now, tooons of fun, more than a little rain, but also some sun, really lovely sights. but my time here is up, maybe i'll do another half hour later. really excited for the rest of the tour, and for meeting erin in amsterdam in a few days!
